Graduate Building Solutions Consultant

The Company

DDEG is a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm specialising in various areas of the building and construction industry, including Fire, Acoustics, Disability Access and many more. With offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Hobart we have national exposure to all building types, occupancies and configurations.

We are currently seeking a highly engaged individual to join our Building Solutions team at our Clayton office. The successful candidate will be working at the forefront of an emerging discipline alongside a dynamic team of like-minded professionals in a positive, energetic workplace.

The Role

Duties will include: 

• Develop and document engineered design solutions presented in reports

• Conduct calculations and model trial designs

• Liaise directly with other members of design teams in each project 

• Research and data sourcing 

• Analyse and interpret legislation

• Interpret design documentation

• Developing practical design alternatives that satisfy legislative requirements

• Self-management of clients and projects

Skills and Qualifications 

The successful candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil/Structural disciplines preferred) 

• Creativity, driven, attention to detail 

• Positive and proactive mindset

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook) 

• Exceptional time-management skills/experience 

• High capacity for critical and analytical thinking 

• Ability to work independently, as well as in a larger team

• A valid driver’s license and have access to a working vehicle
