Reporting to the Senior Group Financial Accountant, you’ll take ownership of coordinating the month-end close across our multi-entity environment, working closely with the broader Finance team and operational stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely and high-quality financial outcomes.

What’s the role?

This is much more than completing your own month-end tasks.

You’ll be the process owner and team coordinator for month-end, coordinating three team members through the close cycle while maintaining oversight of timelines, quality and final outcomes. You’ll identify issues early, propose solutions and drive them through to resolution.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning and coordinating the end-to-end month-end close, allocating activities, monitoring progress and ensuring accurate delivery within reporting timetables.
• Reviewing financial outputs and maintaining reporting integrity, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, consolidations and integrated Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow reporting.
• Supporting statutory reporting, audit, tax and compliance requirements, including half-year and year-end reporting and maintaining strong financial controls across the Group.
• Partnering with Finance and operational stakeholders to provide meaningful analysis, resolve financial issues and support informed decision-making across the portfolio.
• Driving continuous improvement across finance systems, controls and processes, including ERP enhancements, UAT and future system implementation or migration initiatives.

Is this role right for you?

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting capability with ownership, initiative and the confidence to coordinate others through demanding reporting cycles.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience independently leading a full month-end close within a large, multi-entity or group environment, including coordinating a team of three or more people through the process.
• Strong technical accounting capability across accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, consolidations and integrated three-way financial reporting.
• CPA or CA qualification, supported by a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with listed-company or formal governance experience highly regarded.
• Strong systems and analytical capability, including intermediate to advanced Excel and experience with MYOB or comparable ERP systems, ideally with exposure to system improvements or implementations.
• A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach, with strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to maintain quality through overlapping month-end, half-year, year-end and audit deadlines.
