Your opportunity

The Caseload Midwife (Clinical), Charleville Western Queensland, practices autonomously within the multidisciplinary team to provide midwifery services within a rural/remote health service setting.  The Caseload Midwife is responsible for delivering direct midwifery care in an ‘all risk' model whilst providing support and education to other team members.

The Caseload Midwife, in consultation with the Unit Manager, coordinates and provides continuity of midwifery care to a defined caseload of women, using primary health care principles and a problem-solving approach across the childbirth continuum.

The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.

Charleville is a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:

• An annual isolation bonus paid annually!
• Return airfares to the nearest provincial city in conjunction with leave!
• Additional annual leave per annum!
