Groundsman

Hours: 25-35 per week

We are seeking a reliable, motivated and experienced Sports Field Groundsman to join our team on a part-time permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in turf management, horticulture, grounds maintenance or greenkeeping who takes pride in maintaining high-quality sports fields and surrounding facilities.

The successful applicant will play an important role in ensuring our grounds are presented to a high standard, maintained safely and kept ready for regular training, competition and community use.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Routine mowing and maintenance of sports fields and surrounding grounds

• Turf management, including fertilising, weed control and general turf-care practices

• Sports-field preparation and presentation for games and training

• Line marking and maintaining accurate field markings

• General horticultural and garden maintenance

• Irrigation system monitoring and basic maintenance

• Identifying and reporting turf, irrigation, drainage and general grounds issues

• Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment

• General maintenance of grounds, facilities and outdoor areas

• Ensuring grounds and facilities are clean, safe and presented to a high standard

• Carrying out seasonal and scheduled maintenance programs

• Assisting with other grounds and facility maintenance as required

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in horticulture, greenkeeping or sports-field maintenance

• Has a genuine interest in maintaining quality sporting surfaces

• Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work

• Can work independently and manage daily maintenance requirements

• Has good attention to detail

• Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Can safely operate grounds maintenance machinery and equipment

• Has good communication skills and a positive, practical attitude

• Understands the importance of maintaining safe and playable sports facilities

• Part-time permanent employment
