About the role
A Team is an Australian civil construction company delivering earthworks, roads, drainage, bulk excavation, utilities and associated civil infrastructure projects. We are committed to delivering safe, high-quality and environmentally responsible outcomes for our clients, our people and the communities in which we work.
• Experience in a HSEQ, WHS, safety or quality/environmental role, ideally within civil construction, construction or a related industry.
• Working knowledge of, and practical experience applying, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Experience assisting with the development, implementation and maintenance of management systems (an Integrated Management System highly regarded).
• Competency in hazard identification, risk management and the preparation of SWMS and safe work procedures.
• Experience conducting audits and inspections, and in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Sound understanding of WHS legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing to a high standard.
• Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities, work autonomously and meet deadlines.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to build effective relationships and engage a diverse workforce, including field crews and subcontractors.
• Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated in-field operational HSEQ experience (civil construction / construction preferred).
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites regularly.
• Lead / Internal Auditor training or certification (ISO 45001 / 9001 / 14001).
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).
• Experience preparing for and achieving ISO certification of an Integrated Management System.
• Knowledge of civil construction activities, plant and environmental controls (e.g. erosion and sediment control).
• A genuine passion for and commitment to workplace health, safety, environment and quality.
• Practical, hands-on and approachable, with the credibility to influence at all levels — from site crews to management.
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional, reliable and presentable, with high personal standards and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous-improvement mindset.
