Project Engineer

Our client seeks a Project Engineer for a FIFO role from Perth. On offer is an 8 & 6 rotation ex Perth.

As Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering small to medium-scale capital projects in an operational mining environment. This hands-on role will see you provide technical leadership and engineering assurance across design, construction and commissioning, working closely with site stakeholders to safely deliver projects that support the future growth of the operations

About The Role

To provide engineering oversight and technical support for small to medium-scale site-based capital projects, ensuring design integrity, compliance and effective delivery through construction, commissioning and handover. The scope is inclusive of:

Water bore exploration and developmentTailings storage facility embankment liftsProcessing office expansion and wastewater treatment plantLight vehicle workshop developmentUnderground change room replacementHeavy vehicle workshop expansion and redesign

Key Capabilities

Provide engineering support and oversight across the full project lifecycle, from design through to commissioning and handoverReview and manage engineering documentation to ensure safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose project outcomesCoordinate with site teams, contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues, ensure availability of work areas, and drive project deliverySupport project controls including scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting and progress reportingMonitor construction and commissioning activities, ensuring quality standards and design requirements are metManage engineering risks and ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and company requirementsMaintain project records, as-built documentation and handover packagesPromote a strong safety culture and provide visible leadership in the field

What We Expect You To Bring

A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Construction or a related technical disciplineExperience delivering engineering or capital projects within operational mining, processing, or heavy industrial environmentsExposure the full project lifecycle including design review, construction, commissioning and handoverA formal qualification in Project Management would be highly regardedExperience coordinating contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary site teamsSolid understanding of project controls, engineering documentation and compliance requirementsSchedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification is preferred

Ideally you are a practical and collaborative individual who enjoys working in a dynamic site-based environment and seeing projects through from concept to completion. You have experience delivering capital projects in mining or heavy industrial operations, with strong technical judgment, a proactive approach to communication, and a commitment to safe, high-quality project outcomes.
