Civic Disability Services is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join Civic’s Finance Team in the position of Financial Analyst.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Analyst will analyse and present financial and operational data to support decisions aligned with Civic’s strategic and operational objectives. The role will deliver timely, structured analysis that identifies trends, evaluates performance and translates findings into actionable insights.
In this role, you will turn complex financial and operational data into clear insights, forecasts and recommendations that improve performance and support sustainable growth.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyse financial and operational performance and identify key drivers, risks and opportunities.
Develop forecasts, budgets and financial models to support strategic decision-making and business cases.
Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations that improve business outcomes.
Identify opportunities to optimise revenue, improve operational efficiency and deliver sustainable financial performance.
Prepare management reports, dashboards and presentations that communicate financial and operational performance.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, investigating key variances and underlying causes.
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, audit and strategic planning processes.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
You take initiative, bring energy and accountability to your work, and manage competing priorities effectively. You are organised, commercially minded and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
You will possess:
At least three years’ experience in a commercial role, such as FP&A, accounting or business analysis.
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making through effective communication of financial insights.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
Ability to challenge assumptions, ask insightful questions and provide evidence-based recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial and operational data, identify trends and underlying drivers, and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
Experience developing financial models, management reporting, dashboards and data analysis solutions using large and complex datasets.
Demonstrated experience in dealing with large volume data sets with proven capability to interpret and compare data and reports.
Demonstrated ability to identify and understand trends and provide analytical support to drive insights and recommendations.
Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar visualisation tools is highly desirable.
To succeed in this position, you will communicate complex findings clearly, build effective relationships with stakeholders and deliver accurate work efficiently. You will exercise sound judgement when handling commercially sensitive and confidential information and adapt readily as Civic’s needs evolve.
