About the role
The Opportunity, Where You Come In:
Join our Ecology team in Leederville and work across a diverse portfolio of WA projects, from land development and infrastructure to mining and environmental rehabilitation.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to combine field-based ecological work with technical reporting, environmental assessments and project delivery, while working alongside experienced environmental professionals across WA.
In this role, you will:
Work with the Ecological team to deliver ecological surveys across WA with a strong emphasis on botanical assessments and vegetation mapping;
Assist with design and plan of field programs, ensuring data quality, safety compliance and efficient use of resources;
Analyse ecological data and prepare high-quality technical reports, including impact assessments and management recommendations;
Provide input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), approvals documentation and regulatory submissions;
Manage and coordinate rehabilitation programs and offset strategies, including monitoring, reporting and compliance tracking;
Support project delivery across a diverse portfolio, including land development, infrastructure, mining, industrial and waste sectors;
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and regulators to achieve project outcomes and maintain strong stakeholder relationships;
Identify and pursue opportunities to improve project delivery, technical capability and client service within the Ecology team;
Contribute to proposals, tenders and client engagement, with opportunities to develop your commercial and client-management skills; and
The role includes regular fieldwork across metropolitan and regional WA, with occasional overnight travel depending on project requirements.
What we are looking for:
You'd be a great fit if you bring:
Essential
3+ years' experience in ecological consulting and ecological assessments in WA
Demonstrated experience conducting flora and/or fauna surveys in WA
Strong technical report writing
Understanding of WA environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
Ability to undertake fieldwork and travel to project sites
Relevant tertiary qualification in ecology, environmental science, zoology, botany or related discipline
Highly regarded
Demonstrated experience in Black Cockatoo habitat assessments
Environmental approvals/EIA experience
Rehabilitation and/or environmental offsets experience
GIS/spatial mapping experience
4WD experience
Previous environmental consultancy experience
