Doorways Case Worker

Why this role matters
The Salvation Army (Salvos) Doorways model of care provides holistic financial support to individuals and families seeking short term financial assistance and ongoing financial management support services. The Doorways Team provide person-centred trauma informed care, facilitate short-term financial assistance, and walk side-by-side with participants as they build the skills and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty.

About the role

As a Case Worker - Doorways, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families during challenging times. Through person-centred case management, advocacy and community collaboration, you will empower people to identify their goals, access essential supports and build confidence for the future. Working closely with church leaders, volunteers and local service providers, you will help deliver a compassionate, responsive and integrated service that creates meaningful outcomes for the community.

How you will make an impact

• Provide strengths-based case management, supporting community members to navigate challenges and achieve their goals
• Deliver early intervention support to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship, disadvantage or social isolation
• Advocate for community members and connect them with appropriate services, resources and support networks
• Build strong relationships with Church Officers, volunteers and local stakeholders to deliver an integrated and community-focused service
• Maintain accurate records and ensure service delivery aligns with TSA policies and the Doorways Model of Care

What you will bring

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Experience in case management, community services or support-focused roles
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with individuals, families and community partners
• An understanding of financial hardship, social disadvantage and strengths-based, early intervention approaches
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering person-centred support
• A current Working With Children Check.
• A genuine alignment with The Salvation Army's values of Integrity, Compassion, Respect, Diversity and Collaboration
