About the role
Cougar Group is a market-leading OEM manufacturer, hire fleet specialist, and aftermarket service provider for the underground coal mining industry in NSW and QLD. We design, engineer, manufacture, and assemble a diverse range of underground coal diesel equipment, including Personnel Transporters, Graders, Underground Dozers, and Longwall Chock Carriers.
About the Role
The Supply Chain Expeditor is responsible for expediting components for all Cougar Group QLD Workshops (Mackay and Emerald). This role is critical in ensuring the timely delivery and availability of parts and materials required for production, maintenance and service operations. The role incorporates tracking, coordinating and communicating the status of parts orders between suppliers, purchasing, warehouse and production teams to minimise delays and maintain workflow efficiency.
The role will be available either as permanent part-time or casual (approx. 20 hours Per Week), and based in our Mackay Office and Workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Support QLD workshop teams with expediting of components for emergent, breakdown or variation workshop jobs
Support QLD product support team with expediting of components for breakdowns
Assist with on-boarding and off-boarding of local suppliers
Work with local suppliers to identify availability of required parts
Provide financial comparisons to Supply Chain management for local options vs intercompany transfers
Perform ERP transactions to facilitate parts ordering and receipting
Identify potential supply risks and work to mitigate delays
Assist in inventory control by flagging recurring shortages or late deliveries
Assist Supply Chain with info-records, cost and inflationary trends review, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years' experience in a s Supply Chain related role
Experience in manufacturing, maintenance or industrial environment
Understanding of procurement and inventory management processes
Vocational qualification in supply chain, logistics or business
High level of experience with ERP systems and processes
Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
