Medical Receptionist – 4 Days per Week | Westmead

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and organised Medical Receptionist to join our busy podiatry practice in Westmead.

This position would suit someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing warm, helpful service. Many of our patients are older, so patience, kindness and enjoying a good conversation with our patients is important to us.

Previous medical reception experience is preferred, but not essential. We are very happy to train the right person who has a great attitude, is dependable and willing to learn.

• Casual position with the potential to progress to permanent part-time

• Approximately 4 days per week

• Wednesdays off

• Approximately one Saturday per month

• Based at our Westmead podiatry clinic

• Training provided, including Cliniko practice management software

• Welcoming patients and managing reception

• Answering telephone calls and assisting with patient enquiries

• Booking and managing appointments

• Processing payments

• Using Cliniko for patient bookings and administration

• General medical reception and administrative duties

• Communicating with GPs, health professionals and other services

• Helping keep the day-to-day running of the clinic organised and efficient

• Reliable and punctual

• Friendly, approachable and patient

• Comfortable talking with people of all ages, particularly older patients

• Confident and professional on the telephone

• Organised and able to prioritise tasks

• Able to take initiative

• Comfortable using computers and learning new systems

• Happy working as part of a small team

• Looking for a position they can potentially grow into longer term

Previous experience in medical reception, allied health or healthcare administration would be an advantage, but it is not essential.

For us, finding the right person is just as important as previous experience. Full training in Cliniko and our clinic procedures will be provided.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020, based on the successful applicant's appropriate classification and experience, including applicable casual loading and penalty rates.
