Banjo's Bakery Cafe is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Sales Assistants and Kitchen Staff to join our team in Darra, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexible hours that suit your lifestyle. Whether you're greeting customers with a warm smile on the sales floor or preparing fresh food in our kitchen, you'll be an essential part of delivering the high-quality bakery and cafe experience our customers love. This role is perfect for those looking to gain valuable hospitality experience, work part-time around other commitments, or simply enjoy being part of a welcoming team environment.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and presenting fresh bakery items, sandwiches and cafe food to our high standards

• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently whilst maintaining strict hygiene protocols

• Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently at the point of sale

• Providing friendly and professional customer service across the counter and throughout the cafe

• Packaging and presenting items for takeaway customers

• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and sales area at all times

• Assisting with stock rotation, food preparation and basic inventory management

• Working collaboratively with team members during busy service periods

• Following all food safety and health and safety procedures

What we're looking for

• Enthusiasm and a genuine passion for working in a fast-paced hospitality environment

• Reliable and punctual with the flexibility to work casual shifts including weekends

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team

• Basic food handling knowledge or willingness to gain Food Safety certification

• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food presentation

• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure

• Previous hospitality, retail or food service experience is advantageous but not essential

• A positive attitude and friendly demeanour with customers and colleagues
