Art Therapy Assistant - Dural - #246301

Twilight Aged Care is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support our residents during our weekly Art Therapy sessions at our Dural facility.

Working alongside our Art Therapist, you will encourage and assist residents as they explore their creativity in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No artistic experience is required, just an interest in art, a friendly attitude, and a willingness to spend time with older people.

The beautiful artwork created by our residents is proudly showcased at our Annual Art Exhibition each January, where family, friends, and the community come together to celebrate their creativity and achievements.

If you can spare as little as one hour each Wednesday morning, your time and companionship can make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of older people in our community. In return, you'll have the opportunity to build genuine connections, learn new skills, and experience the joy of helping others express themselves through art.

Impact of role:
Art Therapy Assistants play an important role in supporting Twilight Aged Care's Art Therapy program by helping residents participate in creative activities. Volunteers provide encouragement, companionship, and practical assistance, enabling residents to express themselves, build confidence, and stay socially connected. Their support also helps create a positive and engaging environment, contributes to residents' emotional wellbeing, and assists with the preparation of artwork for the annual Art Exhibition, which celebrates residents' creativity and achievements.
