We are looking for motivated people who want to build a genuine technical career while learning from experienced technicians within one of the world's leading commercial food equipment businesses.
This is more than simply completing an apprenticeship.
Our program combines formal nationally recognised training with structured workplace development, practical experience and HOBART-specific technical training designed to develop the next generation of HOBART Service Technicians.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
From the beginning of your 4-year apprenticeship, you'll gain hands-on experience working with commercial equipment used in restaurants, hotels, hospitals, food production facilities and other major Australian businesses.
You'll progressively develop skills across areas such as:
Electrical and mechanical fault finding & repair
Specialisation in commercial dishwashing systems
Foodservice refrigeration systems service and repair
Installation and commissioning of commercial appliances
Conducting planned and preventative maintenance services
Technical documentation and schematics
Customer facing and technical competencies
Safe working practices
THE HOBART DIFFERENCE

You'll benefit from:
Hands-on technical training, at our Silverwater facility and in the field
Formal, nationally recognised apprenticeship training during the 4-year program
Practical experience on industry-leading commercial foodservice equipment
Structured development throughout your apprenticeship
Mentoring from experienced HOBART technicians
Exposure to electrical, mechanical and refrigeration technologies
Real customer and field-service experience
Genuine long-term career opportunities

But great equipment is only part of what makes HOBART successful. Our Service Technicians are the people who keep our customers operating.
That's why we're investing in developing the next generation of HOBART specialised technicians.
Additional benefits include:
- Competitive apprentice rates
- Uniform & PPE provided
- No weekend work during apprenticeship program

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You don't need to already be a technician. We're much more interested in your attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn.
You may be someone starting your career, or someone looking to move into a hands-on technical role from another profession. This role is open to all candidates over 18 years of age.
