Central Australia Leading Hand
AAT Kings | Yulara, NT
Lead a small, close-knit team keeping our Central Australia coach fleet running strong. You'll take charge of workshops in Yulara and Alice Springs, split your time between hands-on mechanical work and leading three mechanics, and play a key role in keeping our guests moving safely across the Red Centre.
What you'll do
Manage the day-to-day workload across Alice Springs and Yulara workshops, coordinating with operations to prioritise vehicle maintenance
Repair, service and maintain company vehicles to reduce breakdowns and meet compliance standards
Lead, train and develop your team of three mechanics, acting as a role model on safety and workshop standards
Ensure all vehicles meet legislative and OH&S requirements, and pass mandatory inspections
Manage parts purchasing and stock levels, and maintain the Ampere system for inventory, scheduling and repair records
Liaise with other Company workshops via Microsoft Teams to coordinate fast, effective repairs
Inspect vehicles post-repair to uphold high presentation and quality standards
Monitor and control costs across wages, tyres and fuel, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
What you'll bring
Mechanical trade qualification to Australian standards
HR driver's licence
Australian refrigeration licence
Diesel fitting or heavy truck experience
Proven supervisory or leadership experience
Solid MS Office skills
A hands-on, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail
The ability to problem-solve under pressure and manage competing priorities
A team player who can also work unsupervised, with tact and discretion
