About the role
Purpose of Role
Environment Tasmania is searching for an experienced individual with a strong communications background to manage and sharpen the organisation’s storytelling, as well as to grow the organisation’s reach, in order to raise the profile of Tasmania’s majestic environment and the threats it faces.
Tasmania is on the cusp of a once-in-a-generation law change that could see the state’s coastal waters better managed for current and future generations. This role will strengthen and amplify Environment Tasmania’s voice to ensure it cuts through the busy media landscape and reaches key audiences. This role will also build the organisation’s unique brand/image and be responsible for managing the processes, strategies and structures that underpin the organisation’s outward communications.
About Us
Environment Tasmania is an independent not-for-profit organisation, campaigning to protect the state’s spectacular natural landscapes and iconic wildlife. It is working together with community groups to build a resilient state with a thriving environment, empowered communities and a cohesive environmental movement.
Environment Tasmania is working on the most important issues threatening Tasmania’s unique natural environment and is increasingly providing a local voice at the national level on behalf of many Tasmanian environment groups.
