About the Role
Mac Marine Group has an opportunity for a Boatyard Hand to join the team, with an immediate start available.
This role is responsible for delivering professional, safe and efficient boatyard services to its customers.
The position involves assisting the Operations Manager in vessel lifting and standing operations, preparation works for painting, applying antifouling and propspeed, detailing and general maintenance of our machinery and facilities.
Prior experience is a benefit, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Safely assist Operations Manager with vessel lifting equipment including travel lift, ensuring vessels are lifted, positioned, and monitored in accordance with safety procedures.
Maintain high standards of personal presentation to reflect Mac Marine Group's professional image.
Carry out tasks such as prepping and applying antifoul via spray application, stripping and applying propspeed, machine polishing and waxing of vessel hulls (full training provided).
Ensure all boatyard areas are kept clean, organised and safe.
Follow direction from senior management.
Follow all workplace health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Assist with additional duties as required to support shipyard operations and business needs.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
Flexibility occasionally required to meet operational requirements
Standard operating hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday, however there is flexibility if casual or part-time employment is preferable
Expectations
· Physically fit and well presented. Basic fitness level is required for vessel lifting and handling duties to ensure safe performance of daily tasks.
· Reliable and punctual.
· Willing to take direction, with a positive can-do attitude in a timely manner.
· Team player.
· Able to work within Australia, with no working restrictions at the time of application.
· A passion for boating and a boat licence is a bonus.
