About The RoleAs our Warehouse & Logistics Manager, you’ll own the warehouse itself, and every movement of stock in and out of it. Inwards goods, storage, stock control, picking, packing, dispatch, delivery, and the freight that connects our cold chain across the country and across the border are all yours. When a customer gets the right product, at the right temperature, on the right day, that’s your work.This has real scope beyond a traditional warehouse role. You’ll be trusted to make calls independently — which carrier, which priority, what to do when a freezer alarms at 5am — and to spot what needs attention before anyone asks. It’s hands-on and accountable, and it stretches from a pallet jack on the floor to a customs broker on the phone.
Who You’ll Be Working WithYou’ll report directly to the CEO and lead warehouse and dispatch staff, plus casual pickers, packers and drivers as rostered. Inside the business you’ll work closely with sales, accounts, marketing and events. Outside it, you’ll be our operational face to wholesale and retail customers, freight carriers and refrigerated transport providers, freight forwarders and customs brokers, suppliers, and regulatory and biosecurity bodies.
What You’ll Be DoingRun the warehouse and protect the stock• Run the day-to-day operation safely, cleanly and efficiently, keeping the site tidy, well-organised and audit-ready at all times• Receive, check and put away inwards goods, reconciling deliveries against purchase orders and reporting shortages, damages or discrepancies• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels, run regular stocktakes and cycle counts, and investigate variances rather than writing them off• Protect the cold chain at all times — monitor freezer and cold-storage temperatures, log readings, and act immediately on any breach or equipment fault• Manage stock rotation, shelf life, batch and best-before tracking, and the segregation of held or quarantined stock• Own warehouse layout, racking and storage to get the most out of the space in safety and pick efficiencyGet orders out the door, right first time• Process wholesale and retail orders accurately and on time, picking and packing to specification and to food-safety standards• Prepare orders for dispatch — palletising, wrapping, labelling and documenting — so the right product, quantity and temperature goes with every consignment• Coordinate daily dispatch schedules and prioritise orders to hit customer delivery windows and cut-off times• Keep packaging, consumables and freight materials stocked so dispatch is never the thing that holds an order upOwn freight, here and interstate• Organise and book interstate and intrastate freight, choosing carriers and modes that protect the cold chain and meet cost and timing requirements• Negotiate and manage relationships with freight carriers, refrigerated transport providers and third-party logistics partners• Prepare and check consignment notes, manifests, labels and temperature requirements, and track shipments right through to delivery• Resolve freight issues, delays, damages and claims promptly, keeping customers and the business informed as you goHandle international freight, customs and biosecurity• Arrange international inbound and outbound freight, liaising with freight forwarders, shipping lines and customs brokers• Prepare and verify import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, permits and certificates• Keep us compliant with Australian biosecurity, quarantine and import requirements (DAFF) and customs clearance (Australian Border Force)• Liaise with agricultural, biosecurity and regulatory bodies to keep approvals, permits and treatments current, and clear consignments without delayBe the operational voice our customers hear• Act as the operational point of contact for wholesale customers on orders, stock availability, delivery timing and freight queries• Keep customers proactively informed on dispatch, tracking and any delays, and resolve fulfilment issues quickly and professionally• Work closely with sales and accounts to align supply with demand, promotions and new-customer onboardingGet product to events, and make it look good• Carry out and coordinate deliveries to customers, events and venues, driving company vehicles where required• Set up, stock and break down on-site activations, events and promotions — equipment, freezers and product• Plan delivery and activation runs for efficient routing, on-time arrival and cold-chain integrity• Represent Mini Melts professionally on site, with equipment that’s clean, safe and presentation-readyKeep everyone safe and compliant• Operate the warehouse in line with Work Health & Safety obligations, food-safety and hygiene requirements, and company policy• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment safely, and keep plant maintained, serviced and fit for use• Identify hazards, complete risk assessments, and report and investigate incidents and near-misses• Keep licences, registrations, servicing and compliance records current and accessibleLead the team and make it better• Supervise, roster and support warehouse, dispatch and casual staff, setting clear daily priorities• Train the team in safe work, picking accuracy, packing standards and cold-chain handling• Identify and implement improvements to layout, processes and freight arrangements that lift accuracy, speed or cost-efficiency
You’re probably a match if you• Have proven experience running a wholesale, distribution or food/cold-chain warehouse• Bring strong logistics and freight coordination experience, including interstate refrigerated transport• Hold a current forklift High Risk Work Licence (Class LF) and are confident on warehouse equipment — an order-picker licence (LO) is a bonus• Hold a current truck licence and a clean driving record• Have sound stock-control, inventory and dispatch skills, with genuinely high accuracy and attention to detail• Are comfortable in inventory, order and freight systems, and pick up new platforms quickly• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, carriers and your own team• Lead with a safety-first mindset and a real commitment to food-safety and cold-chain standards• Are the kind of problem-solver who’d rather fix the process than keep fixing the symptomNice to have, not deal-breakers• Experience arranging international freight and dealing with customs, biosecurity or agricultural bodies• Experience setting up and supporting events, activations or promotions• Food-handling or food-safety training suited to a frozen-food environment• A warehouse or construction safety induction and a current first-aid certificate
How We’ll Know It’s Working• Orders go out on time and in full, with low pick and pack error rates• The cold chain holds — no avoidable temperature breaches, no avoidable stock loss• Freight arrives on time and within budget, and issues get resolved fast• Stock records are accurate, with stocktake variances inside target• The warehouse is safe, clean, compliant and ready for an audit on any given day• Customers tell us fulfilment, delivery and communication are good
