Full Time Chef - Catering and Events - Blanco Horner Hospitality Group

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Chef to join our dynamic Catering and Events team at Blanco Horner Hospitality Management in Adelaide, SA. As a full-time Senior Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef and overseeing the day-to-day kitchen operations for our high-profile catering and events business.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Head Chef in coordinating and supervising kitchen staff to ensure the efficient and timely preparation and delivery of high-quality catered meals and event menus

• Contribute to menu planning, recipe development and food costing to optimise the operational and financial performance of the catering business

• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, as well as inventory and stock control procedures

• Train, mentor and provide feedback to junior kitchen staff to drive continuous improvement in food quality and service delivery

• Liaise with event organisers, clients and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver exceptional catering experiences

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a high-volume catering, events or hospitality environment

• Formal culinary training and qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery

• Excellent knowledge of food safety, kitchen operations and event catering best practices

• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team

• Ability to work collaboratively under pressure and deliver consistently high standards

• Passion for creating innovative, high-quality menu items and providing outstanding customer service
