Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our team in Canberra on a casual basis. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to patients, assisting nursing staff, and ensuring a supportive environment for both patients and their families. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate nature and a commitment to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced medical setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Support nursing staff in administering medications and treatments as directed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Assist in the mobilisation and transfer of patients as required.
• Document patient care activities accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 months experience in a healthcare or nursing environment.
• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
