About the role
G3 Engineering is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters / Fitter & Turners for immediate starts in rostered maintenance roles at a major processing facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for tradespeople looking for stable, long-term work and who are open to eventually relocating to the South Burnett or broader Darling Downs region.
For suitable candidates, an initial DIDO arrangement can be offered, with short-term travel and accommodation incentives available while you settle into the role and decide whether the region is the right fit for you.
Our goal is to build a strong, long-term maintenance team, so we're particularly interested in people who see this as more than just a short-term DIDO opportunity.
THE PACKAGE
$60/hr + penalties
12-hour shifts
Day and night shift opportunities
5/4, 5/5, 4/5 rotating roster
Immediate starts available
Short-term travel and accommodation incentives for suitable candidates
Well-maintained equipment and organised mobilisation
Ongoing, long-term opportunities
THE ROLE
Working as part of an experienced maintenance crew, you'll carry out mechanical maintenance across the facility to support plant reliability and minimise production downtime.
Duties may include:
Preventative and breakdown maintenance
Mechanical fault-finding and repairs
Equipment inspections and servicing
Maintenance of conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, drives and rotating equipment
Working safely within site procedures and maintenance schedules
Supporting shutdown, project and installation work as required
Liaising with supervisors and maintenance personnel to minimise downtime
ABOUT YOU
To be considered, you'll need:
Recognised Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner trade qualification
Minimum two years' relevant maintenance experience
Meat processing, food production or similar industrial experience highly regarded
Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Current Australian driver's licence
Current White Card
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing
A genuine interest in long-term work and eventual relocation to the region
