Senior Power Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, you will:

• Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of power system projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Perform power system studies, including load flow, fault level, protection coordination, and stability analysis.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored engineering solutions.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and documentation for project deliverables.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in power systems engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or ETAP.
• Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
• Chartered Engineer status or eligibility for CPEng accreditation will be highly regarded.

Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

• Conducting detailed power system studies and analyses to support project requirements.
• Leading project meetings and liaising with clients to ensure alignment with their objectives.
• Reviewing and approving technical designs and documentation prepared by the team.
• Providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the development of best practices.
