Tile Showroom Sales Consultant

About the role

This is a consultative sales role. Your customers are renovators planning a $15,000 bathroom, designers trying to find something that does not look like it came from Bunnings. Your job is to understand their project, understand their budget, and guide them to the right tile specification and then close the quote. You will work directly with the business owner and have real input into how the tile section of the showroom is developed and displayed.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with walk-in customers: builders, renovators, designers, and homeowners — on tile selections for bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and outdoor spaces

• Calculate tile quantities accurately for customer projects and prepare detailed quotes

• Follow up on open quotes within 24 hours — no lead goes cold without a call

• Develop strong product knowledge across porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, and large-format tiles — including technical specs

• Keep the tile section of the showroom well-presented, correctly labelled, and updated with new arrivals

• Build and maintain relationships with trade and builder accounts

• Contribute to Google reviews and repeat business through exceptional service

About you

• Experience with flooring, building materials, Beaumont Tiles, National Tiles, Metro Tiles, TileCloud, or similar is highly regarded

• Applicants with interior designer backgrounds are welcome to apply

• Experience in tile, flooring, stone, or building materials retail: you understand the product technically and can talk to prospects as a peer

• The ability to calculate tile quantities and produce accurate quotes without being hand-held

• Knowledge of slip resistance ratings (P1–P5 / R9–R13), rectified vs non-rectified tiles, porcelain vs ceramic, and wet area requirements; or a genuine willingness to learn fast

• Strong closing instincts — you follow up, you ask for the sale, and you are not waiting for the customer to come back

• A reliable, professional approach — you show up on time and own your results

Benefits

• Base $30–$35/hour + uncapped commission. OTE $80,000–$120k for strong performers

• Full time, permanent employment - Monday to Sunday, days off varies by roster
