About the role
About the role
Intercast Australia is a well-established, Australian-owned non-ferrous foundry specializing in bronze, brass and aluminum castings for the mining, marine, engineering and industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and hardworking team member to join our foundry team. This position may suit an experienced foundry moulder, furnace operator or trades assistant, as training can be provided to the right applicant.
Key responsibilities
Preparing sand moulds and cores for non-ferrous castings
Operating and assisting with foundry furnaces
Melting and pouring bronze, brass and aluminum
Preparing moulding boxes, patterns and casting equipment
Fettling, grinding and finishing cast components
Handling raw materials and finished castings
Assisting tradespeople with general foundry duties
Operating forklifts, cranes and other workshop equipment where qualified
Maintaining a clean, organized and safe working environment
Following workplace health, safety and quality procedures
About you
Previous foundry, furnace, moulding, metalworking or manufacturing experience
A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
The ability to perform physically demanding work
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
A strong understanding of workplace safety
The ability to work effectively as part of a small team
Willingness to learn different areas of foundry operations
Australian working rights
A forklift license, dogging or crane experience, and previous experience within a non-ferrous foundry would be highly regarded but are not essential
