Industry Events & Impact Lead

We’re looking for a proactive, impact-driven professional to join our team as our Industry Events & Impact Lead. This key role takes charge of EnergyLab's external conference presence and strategic industry showcases - including the Startup Showcase at All Energy - while leading the annual Decarb Debrief report and developing our Impact Metrics to demonstrate the value we deliver to Australia's climate tech ecosystem.
About the RoleThe Industry Events & Impact Lead takes charge of EnergyLab's external conference presence, strategic industry showcases, and impact reporting. Focused on elevating climate tech founders and EnergyLab programs on external stages, this role currently manages two major activations - the EnergyLab Startup Showcase at All Energy and EnergyLab’s activities during Climate Action Week Sydney.Beyond external event delivery, the role drives data-driven accountability across EnergyLab by leading the annual Decarb Debrief report, continuing to develop EnergyLab’s Impact Metrics, and assisting with ARENA grant reporting requirements. Blending operational rigour, external stakeholder management, and proactive communication, the Impact & External Events Lead directly supports EnergyLab’s mission to scale breakthrough low-carbon solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting & MetricsEditor of the annual Decarb Debrief reportGrant writing and reporting: Support the CEO with grant reporting and new grant applicationsExternal EventsEngage with external conference and event managers to create opportunities for EnergyLab and EnergyLab startups to showcase clean energy and climate tech thought leadership, technology and business models and promote EnergyLab programs and services.Manage the annual 2 days All Energy EnergyLab Startup Showcase ensuring it highlights and showcases startup success stories and provides valuable industry conversations.Take the lead of Climate Action Week Sydney for EnergyLab.Team StrategyTeam Strategy Facilitation: Lead the preparation, coordination, and facilitation of EnergyLab team strategy days and follow-up planning sessions.Help with other key EnergyLab Activities as required.
About YouWe are looking for an organised, collaborative professional with 3–5+ years of experience across project coordination, event management, operations, sustainability reporting, or startup support.You bring a strong balance of analytical rigour and relationship-building skills. On the data side, you are comfortable gathering, checking, and verifying metrics to ensure high accuracy for flagship deliverables like the Decarb Debrief report and grant reporting. On the event side, you excel at building rapport with external conference managers, sponsors, and precinct leaders to run major industry showcases like All Energy and Climate Action Week Sydney.Digitally savvy and solution-oriented, you live for a clear process or run sheet, stay calm when event or project timelines shift, and thrive in a nimble team where your talents directly help scale climate tech innovations.

Key detailsLocation: Based in EnergyLab's Sydney headquarters in Haymarket or EnergyLab’s Melbourne office in Carlton and working remotely from time to time as is suitable for successfully delivering on the requirements of the role. Reporting to: EnergyLab's CEO, Megan FisherPosition: Full time or 9 days a fortnight.Start Date: Early to mid October
