Senior Mechanical Designer

As our team continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Brisbane office, contributing to a range of challenging and rewarding projects. We offer flexibility in engagement arrangements, with this opportunity available as a fixed-term contract, casual position, or independent contractor arrangement.

About the role

• Prepare 3D layouts and detail drawings 
• Deliver design drafting according to required project timeframes and standards by coordinating and supervising project members, reviewing deliverables and preparing design and detail drawings in line with requirements  
• Responsibility will vary according to project requirements. May work independently, as a member of a team or as a team leader.
• Overcome design/schedule issues by maintaining an overview of activity, communicating with the Lead Designer, Lead Engineer and communicating issues in a timely manner  
• Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects and devise practical and economical solutions to problems as they arise

 About you

• Prior experience in a similar role working on designs for Bulk Materials Handling or Plant layout. (Experience with crushing, grinding, materials handling, flotation, CIL/CIP, slurry, pumping, slurry agitation, particle size classification and separation would also be highly regarded.)
• Advance diploma or equivalent in Engineering is desirable. 
• Proven experience with Smart Plant S3D is highly desirable
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills
