CMBM Facility Services (Clean, Maintain, Build, Manage) is a proudly Queensland-owned company delivering high-quality facility services and cleaning solutions across Queensland.
With a workforce of 360+ employees and continuing to grow, we are looking for an experienced People & Culture Officer to join our People & Culture Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave coverage.
The RoleReporting to the People & Culture Manager, this position will provide recruitment and generalist HR support across our growing business, with a strong focus on coordinating CMBM’s recruitment activities.
The role is 20 hours per week, with our preference being for someone who is available to work 5 days per week, approximately 4 hours each day. Some flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
There may also be opportunities for additional hours during periods of staff leave coverage.
Based in our modern Eight Mile Plains office, this is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, confident managing recruitment processes and comfortable working across a busy and varied People & Culture environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDraft and post job advertisements across relevant recruitment platforms
Coordinate recruitment activities across multiple vacancies and locations
Screen and shortlist candidates
Conduct telephone screening and candidate follow-up
Conduct reference checks and VEVO work rights checks
Liaise with employment service providers, recruitment agencies and hiring managers
Prepare employment agreements and onboarding documentation using established templates
Coordinate new starter documentation and candidate communications
Review and improve recruitment and onboarding processes
Provide general HR administrative support to the People & Culture Manager
Assist with People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end recruitment
Confidence and willingness to pick up the phone and speak directly with candidates, including screening, follow-up and keeping candidates engaged throughout the recruitment process
A preference and availability to work 5 days per week, approximately 4 hours per day
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Confidence working autonomously while contributing as part of a small team
Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence learning HR and business systems
The ability to build rapport with candidates, managers and external stakeholders
A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach
Previous experience within an HR or People & Culture environment will be highly regarded.
