About the role
Community Recovery has lead responsibility for human and social recovery, supporting communities to be resilient and recover from natural disasters or traumatic events. You will supervise a team responsible for the functions of Planning, Intelligence and Reporting.
You will work closely with the Director, Strategy and Engagement, in a dynamic and challenging environment, and will have extensive experience in providing high-level support, coordination, preparation and management of comprehensive reports.
This role supports the Director in providing technical advice to ensure quality and timely reporting, ensuring stakeholder and sector expectations are met. The ability to stay informed of current matters, analyse information, influence, problem solve, and coordinate workflow is essential to your success in this role.
As the Principal Program Officer, you will:
• Coordinate day-to-day operations to deliver on relevant Community Recovery outcomes, supporting the department's capacity to deliver and maintain quality services.
• Lead and support a team to deliver quality outcomes that align with organisational objectives through building team capability by providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
• Provide high-level strategic, tactical, and operational analysis, advice, and reporting on matters related to Community Recovery data collection, management, analysis, and performance.
• Develop and implement business intelligence solutions and best-practice procedures to ensure that departmental data and statistics are processed, presented, and reported in an accessible, replicable, and high-quality manner for internal and external stakeholders.
• Engage with communities of practice and stakeholders to provide expert advice on data performance, reporting, and intelligence.
• Contribute to and apply data governance activities by reviewing, evaluating, documenting, and updating processes and methodologies used in the maintenance and reporting of Community Recovery data.
• As a lead team member of Strategy and Engagement, participate in and contribute to strategic and business planning processes, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Prepare a range of high-quality written materials, including executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes, and information papers related to Community Recovery programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
