About the role
We are looking for an inspirational and highly capable Training and Quality Manager to help shape the future of training and assessment at Complete Hospitality Training.
For more than 50 years, CHT has been part of Australia's hospitality training industry. Our next chapter is about building on that history while continuing to challenge ourselves to be better.
We do not want someone whose idea of training quality is having all the boxes ticked. We want an educational leader who can inspire trainers, strengthen assessment practice, develop people and keep improving the learner experience.
About the roleYou will lead our trainers, assessors, curriculum support staff and program leaders across Melbourne, interstate and remote locations, including our sessional training team.
Your role is to ensure our training is compliant, practical, engaging and consistently delivered to a high standard. You will support experienced industry professionals to become confident and exceptional educators while making sure the systems, resources and operational processes around them are working as they should.
You will oversee the day-to-day quality and performance of training and assessment, including trainer allocation and readiness, assessment turnaround, learner progression, compliance monitoring and the resolution of delivery issues before they become larger problems.
Our interstate, remote and sessional trainers are an important part of CHT. They must receive the same leadership, communication, feedback, coaching and development as our Melbourne-based team. Building that consistency across our entire training workforce is a key part of this role.
What you will leadCHT’s trainer and assessor workforce
Day-to-day training and assessment operations
Training and Assessment Strategy development, implementation and monitoring
Compliance with the 2025 Standards for RTOs, funding contracts and other applicable regulatory requirements
Trainer allocation, workforce planning and delivery readiness
Trainer capability, credentials, professional development and industry currency
Trainer induction, coaching, mentoring and ongoing support
Performance conversations and individual trainer development plans
Identifying and developing emerging leaders within the training team, creating genuine pathways from Trainer to Program Lead and future leadership opportunities
Training observations, file reviews, quality checks, validation and moderation
Assessment-system and assessment-resource development
Training-product transitions and implementation
Assessment turnaround, workload allocation and backlog management
Learner progression, attendance, engagement and completion monitoring
Identification and resolution of training, assessment and compliance risks
Preparation for internal reviews, external audits and regulatory activity
Corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives
Industry engagement and evidence of vocational relevance
Accurate and timely training and assessment records
Collaboration between training, administration, compliance and learner-support teamsYour focus is the quality of the teaching and the capability of the people doing it. You will work closely with operational, administration and quality functions to ensure training and assessment is supported by effective systems and delivery processes.
You are comfortable questioning how things are done and looking for better ways to do them. You also understand that good ideas need clear processes, proper follow through and consistent delivery.
You can work confidently with experienced chefs and hospitality professionals, build strong relationships and support them to become even better trainers. You can also review a learner file, identify where something has gone wrong and work with the right people to address both the issue and the process behind it.
You set high expectations while providing genuine support. You see feedback as a way to help people improve, not simply as a record of what they have done wrong.
You understand regulatory and contractual requirements and can turn them into practical processes that trainers and operational teams can follow. Compliance matters, but it is not the only measure of quality. We want training that is delivered well, assessment decisions we can stand behind, operations that run effectively and learners who leave able to do what their qualification says they can do.
What you will bringSignificant experience within vocational education and training
Demonstrated leadership of trainers and assessors
Experience managing training delivery or training operations across multiple programs or locations
Strong understanding of contemporary training and assessment practice
Detailed knowledge of current RTO regulatory requirements including the 2025 Standards for RTOs
Experience implementing and monitoring compliance systems and corrective actions
Strong assessment validation and moderation experience
Experience reviewing and implementing Training and Assessment Strategies, assessment tools and training resources
Knowledge of trainer credential, professional development and industry-currency requirements
Experience monitoring learner progression, assessment turnaround and delivery performance
Strong coaching and performance-management capability
Sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing operational priorities
The ability to analyse issues, identify root causes and implement practical improvements
The confidence to escalate risks and hold people accountable when required
The ability to influence and earn credibility with experienced professionals
Holds the credentials required to deliver training and assessment and undertake validation under the Credential Policy that operates alongside the 2025 Standards for RTOs
Experience in hospitality training, aXcelerate, government-funded training, apprenticeships or multi-state delivery will be highly regarded.

Reasonable adjustments are available at every stage of our recruitment process. If you would like to take part in a different way, or you need something changed so you can do your best, tell us in your application or give us a call and we will sort it out.
