Catering Manager – Front of House
St George Motor Boat Club | Full-Time
St George Motor Boat Club is looking for an experienced and hands-on Catering Manager – Front of House to join our Functions & Events team.
This is a key operational role responsible for leading our FOH team and ensuring our functions and events are delivered smoothly, professionally and to a high standard.

About the Role
The Catering Manager will oversee the FOH delivery of functions and events from setup through to service and pack-down.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supervising the FOH team during functions and events.
Conducting pre-service briefings and allocating staff and duties.
Overseeing function setup, service and pack-down.
Ensuring food and beverage service runs smoothly and on time.
Maintaining high standards of presentation, service and guest experience.
Managing guest requests and resolving service issues.
Working closely with the kitchen and Functions Coordination Team.
Ensuring dietary requirements and function details are clearly communicated.
Coordinating FOH staffing and operational requirements for upcoming events.
Assisting with general function enquiries and operational administration on office days.
Working Pattern
The role will generally be worked across a five-day week, with approximately:
3–4 days focused on functions and events, providing hands-on FOH leadership.
1–2 days office-based, preparing for upcoming functions, coordinating staffing and resources, and supporting the Functions Team.
The working pattern will vary depending on the function calendar and operational requirements.
Weekend work is an essential part of the role.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience in functions, events or hospitality management.
Is confident leading and motivating a FOH team.
Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
Has strong communication and customer service skills.
Takes pride in service, presentation and attention to detail.
Is calm and confident in a busy environment.
Is willing to be hands-on and lead by example.
Works well with both FOH and kitchen teams.
Is flexible and available to work weekends.
