Assembly Technician - High tech

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented assembly technicians to join our cable and fine assembly teams, in Tennyson.

These roles are suitable for entry level applicants who wish to learn. On the job training will be provided.

In these hands-on roles, you will be responsible for assembling components and products according to specifications while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Assembly of high-volume electronic modules for the telecommunications market as well as prototype units

• Build and assemble DC and RF circuits for telecommunication microwave modules

• Perform assembly of wire looms, including wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, termination, testing, and inspection to meet production and quality requirements

• Assembly production jigs, accessories, and prototype assemblies or subassemblies

• Perform basic functional testing of electronic circuits

• Operate specialised manufacturing equipment including wire/ribbon bonding, gap welding, die placing, reflow soldering, vapour degreasing and hand soldering

• Actively participate in training programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Key requirements:

• Ability to perform work under a microscope

• Aptitude to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings

• Outstanding fine motor skills and high level of attention to detail

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent time management skills

• Demonstrated experience in miniature assembly (or related activities)

• Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is desirable

• Proven experience in operating microscopes and effectively interpreting the images

• IPC standards certifications such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent will be highly regarded
