About the role

Cullen Bay Marina is seeking an experienced Estate Officer (Lockmaster) to join our team in a full-time capacity. Based in Cullen Bay, NT, Darwin this role is pivotal to maintaining the security, safety and operational integrity of our marina estate. As Estate Officer (Lockmaster), you will oversee all aspects of marina lock systems, access control and security infrastructure across our facility, ensuring that our estate operates efficiently and securely at all times. This position is essential to our commitment to providing a safe and well-maintained environment for all marina users and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all lock systems and access control mechanisms across the marina estate

• Conduct regular inspections of security infrastructure and identify maintenance or upgrade requirements

• Issue, track and manage access keys and credentials for marina users, contractors and staff

• Respond promptly to security breaches, lockouts and access-related emergencies

• Maintain detailed records of all lock systems, access logs and security incidents

• Coordinate with contractors and service providers for lock repairs and replacements

• Ensure compliance with security protocols and local regulations governing marina access and safety

• Train staff and users on proper access control procedures and security requirements

• Conduct patrols of the estate to monitor security and identify potential vulnerabilities

• Prepare reports on security incidents and make recommendations for improvements

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Lockmaster, Estate Officer or similar security and access control role

• Comprehensive knowledge of lock systems, including mechanical and electronic access control solutions

• Sound understanding of security protocols and best practices in facility management

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to respond effectively to security incidents

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Physical fitness and capability to conduct regular patrols and perform hands-on maintenance tasks

• Knowledge of maritime facilities, marina operations and Coxswains ticket (advantageous)

• First Aid certificate (advantageous)

• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor when interacting with diverse stakeholders

• Current driver's license and reliable transportation
