Secretariat Officer, Resilience Team, Operations Group

The team is responsible for (describe primary responsibilities or areas of focus) and works closely with [internal/external stakeholders] to deliver outcomes that support the integrity, effectiveness and continuous improvement of Australia's electoral system.

The Resilience Team sits within the Cyber Security and Assurance Section and supports the agency's commitment to strengthening the resilience of the AEC’s election management systems and processes.

The team works across the AEC and with external stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen preparedness and uplift the AEC’s electoral event resilience posture against cyber breaches, outages to critical systems and infrastructure, natural disasters and other disruptive events.

The Secretariat Officer provides governance, coordination and secretariat support to the Resilience team, contributing to the delivery of its resilience work program. 

You will be required to:

• Provide secretariat support for governance forums, workshops, stakeholder meetings, including coordinating agendas, papers, minutes and action items.
• Prepare meeting records, briefing materials, correspondence and reports to support decision-making and governance processes.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support engagement activities and collaborative working relationships.
• Contribute to the coordination and delivery of initiatives that strengthen the resilience of the AEC's election management systems and processes.

We are seeking a motivated and capable professional who can demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience required to perform successfully in this role.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing meeting records, briefing materials, reports and correspondence.
• Experience providing governance coordination or secretariat support, including the management of meeting documentation, records and action items. 
• Sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to team outcomes.
• Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks, manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within established timeframes.
• The ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Australian electoral practices and security environment.
