Host – Rooms at Hyatt House South Melbourne 

An exciting opportunity exists for a Host - Rooms to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of the first Hyatt House brand in Australia. As the Host - Rooms, you will provide a seamless and efficient operation of the Front Office on a day-to-day basis, you are the face of our check in and check out experience, handling quest queries effortless.  

We are looking for someone who is curious minded, energetic, passionate, is connected to the latest and newest, this sounds like you we want to hear from you! 

• Prepare arrival and departure reservations in our hotel PMS, noting requests and loyalty status of our guests. Process payments for guest departure, including posting payments, processing EFTPOS transactions and preparing invoices. 

• This role is also diverse covering F&B aspects such as showcasing your barista skills and learning how to make cocktails.

• Ensure that all public and back of house areas are maintained to a high level of cleanliness, maintenance and presentation. 

• Answer our phones with a smile and coordinate our guest’s needs such as restaurant bookings, transportation requirements and hotel services. 

• Actively upsell and cross sell hotel services and outlets.

• Be on hand to assist in an emergency situation where required.

Your background: 

To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes: 

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication and time management skills with a strong ability to multi-task

• A passion for hospitality and a desire to provide the best service for our guests 

• Superior guest service skills along with excellent service resolution skills

• The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

• Experience in a guest relations or front office experience is advantageous.

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
