Pastry Cook in Darwin

We are a wholesale bakery supplying speciality bread and pastries to cafes and restaurants in Darwin and we are looking for a hardworking, passionate and experienced pastry cook to join our team. To be successful in this role the applicant will need

·    Strong organisation and problem solving skills.

·    Hand shaping skills.

·    The ability to work independently + alongside co-workers.

·    Be mature minded.

·    Great attention to detail and a passion for consistency.Ability to comply with health and safety procedures.

·    Be prepared to work some night shifts.

Find the below duties of the position

·    checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients

·    kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods

·    preparing pastry fillings

·    monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times

·    coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products

·    glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing

·    operating machines which roll and mould dough

 This position is a full-time and for the long term.
