About the role
George’s Paragon Restaurant is one of Queensland’s most iconic dining destinations, renowned for premium seafood, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, and exceptional service.
Located on the Gold Coast, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding dining experiences through fresh ingredients, creative dishes, and a professional team environment.
We are currently seeking experienced Chefs and Cooks to join our busy kitchen team.
Chef Positions
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to menu specifications
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations during service
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, and cost control
• Ensure food quality, portion consistency, and presentation standards
• Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff
• Maintain strict hygiene, safety, and HACCP compliance
• Contribute to menu planning and daily specials
Skills & Experience:
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant environment
• Sound knowledge of seafood and Mediterranean cuisine highly regarded
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and ability to perform under pressure
Cook Positions
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook menu items following established recipes and standards
• Ensure dishes are prepared efficiently and presented consistently
• Assist with stock rotation, kitchen cleanliness, and daily prep
• Follow all food safety and workplace health and safety procedures
• Work collaboratively with the Chef team during service
Skills & Experience:
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Reliable, punctual, and passionate about food quality
