Head Trainer - The Yard Gym Newstead

This is a Head Coach role built around one thing: raising the standard of coaching, athletes and events across the studio. If that's where you want to spend your time, keep reading.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Coach the coaches

• Set and hold the standard for coaching quality across every Senior Coach and Coach on the floor

• Own the development pathway for junior coaches — mentoring, feedback, and building them toward their next level

• Identify your own growth areas and put your hand up for the courses, certs or mentoring you need to get there — we'll back it

Shape the training

• Guide the direction and quality of our collaborative programs — Hybrid and Run Club — so every session reflects the TYG standard

• Take ownership of the competition and event calendar, including Hyrox and other hybrid racing and endurance events

• Track members' Challenge and competition progress and build the TYG training splits that actually get them there
  

Drive sales and retention

• Own the conversion conversation with trial members during their sessions, handing them over to Front of House ready to sign

• Lead retention across the coaching team — every at-risk member contacted within acceptable timeframes, every coach hitting their own retention numbers

• Run goal-setting check-ins and keep injury, rehab and progression plans properly documented

THE SETUP

• Part-time, built into a rotating roster with time allocated purely for coach development and planning

• Employed under the Fitness Industry Award 2020 (MA000094), Above Award Rates

• Clear, achievable KPIs for every role — you'll know exactly what a great month looks like, and so will we

WHO WE'RE AFTER

• A self-motivated team player, ready to buy into The Yard Gym and own their role

• Senior coaching experience with Cert IV Fitness (minimum)

• A genuine interest in developing other coaches, not just yourself

• Comfortable running the logistics of events and competitions, not just training for them
