headspace Maroochydore is delivered by Youturn, the centre's lead agency, providing young people with access to integrated mental health, wellbeing and support services.

Job Description

headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to young people aged 12–25. We’re here to make it as easy as possible for young people and their families to access support for challenges impacting wellbeing, with care that is welcoming, respectful and age‑appropriate.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you'll work with young people aged 12-25, engaging, assessing and supporting them to access the right care at the right time. You'll:

Build genuine connections with young people, families and carers.Conduct comprehensive assessments and risk screenings.Provide brief therapeutic interventions and practical support.Coordinate referrals and ongoing care pathways.Facilitate group programs that empower young people to thrive.Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary mental health team.

Most importantly, you'll be helping young people feel seen, heard and supported when they need it most.

Desired Skills And Experience

We're looking for someone who may be a Social Worker, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse who is looking for a meaningful role where you can make a tangible impact every day.

You'll Bring

Experience supporting vulnerable young people facing complex challenges.Strong assessment, engagement and relationship-building skills.Knowledge of youth mental health, alcohol and other drug issues, and evidence-based interventions.Confidence conducting risk assessments and developing appropriate support responses.A collaborative approach and genuine commitment to person-centred care.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing.
