About the role
Your next opportunityWe are seeking a Supply Chain Applications Engineer who will own the entire delivery value chain, providing support to the digital solutions that enable Boral. With a focus on keeping Boral’s supply chain core applications at an optimum level, this role will involve contributing effectively to analysis, design, development, testing, deployment/product release, and operations support. The Supply Chain Applications Engineer will work as a key member of an agile team providing excellent system experiences for Boral’s customers, operations and employees alike.
Your day will involve:Learn and master Boral systems and business processes in order to create solutions that solve customer needsUnderstand the Boral business operations, processes and requirements and proactively suggest features and changes that could be incorporated into products and systems to enhance user experience and internal productivityDesign and deliver solutions using Waterfall and blended approaches as requiredUndertake production deployment and service transition activitiesProvide production operations and support, utilising proactive tools and techniques to anticipate and then rapidly address issues as they ariseUse object-oriented and functional programming languages to integrate and configure solutions (e.g. Python, Javascript, C#, SQL, .Net etc.).
What are we looking for?Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a dynamic environmentAny industry experience within construction, concrete or supply chain areas will be highly regardedBachelor or Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineExperience with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, Change and Release ManagementExperience in a customer (internal or external) facing role with strong debugging and root cause analysis skills across a variety of platformsDemonstrated ability in supporting complex, multiple integrated application environment (off shelf and bespoke) with strong and methodical problem-solving skills diagnosing high impact time critical issuesDemonstrated ability to deliver on a range of technical tasks such as analysis, design, development, testing and operationsExperience of assessing and implementing Cloud solutions and AWS Cloud hosting (Linux, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS/SQSPreferably experience with Command Alkon suite of productsExperience with Citrix console, AIX, Unix and .Net
