Private Companion and Home Support

We are seeking a warm, dependable and personable companion to provide regular company and practical day-to-day assistance to a 63-year-old woman living in her own home.

The role is centred around companionship, outings and helping make everyday life easier and more enjoyable. We are looking for someone who is naturally engaging, trustworthy and comfortable developing a genuine, ongoing rapport.

Hours will generally be spread across three days each week, totalling approximately 15–20 hours. The preferred days and schedule can be discussed with the successful applicant, although consistency from week to week would be appreciated.

The role may include:

• Providing friendly and engaging companionship

• Accompanying her on shopping trips, appointments and local outings

• Assisting with groceries, errands and other everyday tasks

• Planning, preparing or arranging meals

• Providing transport when required

• Helping maintain a comfortable daily routine

• Light household assistance

• Keeping in regular contact with the family as appropriate

The ideal applicant will be:

• Warm, patient and easy to spend time with

• Dependable, punctual and trustworthy

• Confident taking initiative with everyday plans and activities

• A clear and considerate communicator

• Interested in developing a consistent, longer-term working relationship

Previous experience in companionship, community support, aged care, personal assistance or a similar position would be helpful, but personality, judgment and reliability are equally important.
