Purpose:
The two (2) successful Student Engineers will join the Engineering Services department and be exposed to all aspects of planning, managing Council’s assets, and traffic engineering. These roles will challenge and develop your decision-making skills and provide scope to gain experience in local government civil engineering practices across our Asset Management and Traffic Engineering teams.
About the role:
Provide general assistance to the Engineering Services department
Undertake and assist in engineering duties, such as traffic counts, parking surveys, road safety investigations, asset condition assessments and audits, data collection, mapping, or asset revaluations.
Assist the department with investigating and actioning customer service requests, preparing correspondence, and producing reports.
Liaise with the community and Council’s staff in relation to project inquiries, asset renewals, traffic schemes, or parking issues.
About you:
Currently undertaking a tertiary degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying, or Landscape Architecture.
Experience with Microsoft Project, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Class C driver’s license.
High level of written and oral communication skills.
