Bunbury City GP is a new general practice opening in Bunbury's CBD in October 2026. We are a 100% bulk billing family practice with modern, purpose-built consulting rooms and free on-site parking.

This is a rare opportunity to join a practice from day one and play an important role in shaping how our reception and administrative systems operate.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Receptionist to join our team and take a key role in our front-of-house operations.

You will be involved from the pre-opening phase, working closely with the practice owner and doctors to establish reception systems and workflows. As the practice grows, you will become a key day-to-day point of support for the reception team and the smooth running of the practice.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing a courteous, friendly and efficient reception service to patients and doctors
• Managing appointment books, recalls and reminders
• Answering telephone enquiries professionally and personably
• Medicare and DVA claiming, reconciliation and resolution of rejected claims
• Patient registration, MyMedicare enrolments and maintenance of accurate patient records
• Managing incoming correspondence, scanning and administrative workflows
• Opening and closing procedures, daily reconciliation and general administration
• Assisting with training, rostering and mentoring of reception staff as the team grows
• Assisting with accreditation preparation and practice policies and procedures
• Maintaining strict patient confidentiality and privacy at all times

Essential

• Minimum 3 years' experience in medical reception, preferably in general practice
• Strong understanding of Medicare billing and bulk billing processes
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks and use initiative
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine, positive approach to patient care
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a small team and independently
• Reliable transport and ability to commute to Bunbury CBD

Highly regarded

• Working knowledge of Best Practice medical software
• Previous experience in a GP practice
• Previous experience with a practice opening, relocation or implementation of new systems
• Experience supporting RACGP/AGPAL accreditation
• Previous supervisory, senior reception or team leader experience
