About the role
Greenmountain Food Processing Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team at our large beef-processing facility in Coominya.
This is a stable, long-term opportunity offering greater variety than a conventional workshop role. You will maintain and repair tractors, trucks, skid steers, generators and other mobile plant, while also assisting with general fixed-plant maintenance when required.
About the roleReporting primarily to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, mechanical systems and mobile plant
Performing planned and breakdown maintenance
Maintaining tractors, trucks, skid steers, generators and related equipment
Completing inspections, servicing and fault-finding
Repairing hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
Assisting with fixed-plant maintenance, shutdowns and equipment installation
Performing welding and fabrication within your competence
Following permit-to-work, isolation and lockout/tagout requirements
Maintaining food safety, hygiene and contamination-control standards
Supporting after-hours breakdowns, overtime and weekend work where required
Contributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement
You will hold one of the following qualifications:
Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology
Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic
You will also have:
Demonstrated diesel-mechanical competence and strong fault-finding ability
A current Driver’s Licence
Full Australian working rights
A strong commitment to safety
The ability to work independently and within a maintenance team
A practical, reliable and flexible approach
The physical capacity to perform demanding maintenance work
Experience with tractors, trucks, skid steers, generators, food processing, manufacturing or fixed plant will be highly regarded but is not essential. A heavy vehicle licence is also desirable.

$95,000–$105,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience
