About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Operational Support Officer to join the Operational Support team and deliver high quality operational and administrative support to the Discipline of Rural and Remote Health (RRH) at Flinders University. In this diverse role, you will be responsible for coordinating operational activities including conferences and events, stakeholder visits, while providing executive support to leadership staff. Based at the Darwin Casuarina campus, this position contributes to the ongoing improvements of operational procedures, administrative systems and work instructions to support consistent and effective service delivery across the discipline.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing operational and administrative support, including calendar management, coordination of meetings and conferences, and the preparation and distribution of correspondence.
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with leadership staff and key stakeholders.
• Supporting the development and ongoing maintenance of operational procedures, processes and templates to support efficient and consistent service delivery.
• Coordinating travel arrangements for staff, students, visitors and groups, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.

You are a highly organised and proactive professional with experience providing operational and administrative support in a complex environment. With strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you thrive in a fast-paced setting, effectively managing competing priorities while delivering high-quality customer service and operational outcomes. You are solutions-focused, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to support organisational goals.

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience providing operational and administrative support, including coordinating events, travel, facilities, resources and business operations within a complex organisation.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of contemporary administrative systems, software and processes, with the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures to support efficient service delivery and continuous improvement.

At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University.

• Flinders University will require a current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University.
