Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region.

Anyinginyi consists of five different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit, Sports and Recreation, and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

About the Role

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a full time Grants Officer to join their Nyangirru Piliyi-ngara Kurantta – Business Services Section, based in Tennant Creek. This role is offered on a Full Time basis.

Reporting to the Grants & Contracts Manager, this position will see you responsible for providing support and advice to staff and section managers to enable the organisation to consistently meet the funding terms and conditions of grant submissions, grant monitoring and reporting compliance processes.

This position will also be proactive in seeking out and following up funding opportunities and support for programs in collaboration with Executive managers and to manage and acquit current grant funding agreements.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

• Undertake a broad range of administrative activities and provide quality grants management support to ensure compliance with funding agreements and contracts; and identify risk and escalate promptly and appropriately. 
• Provide quality, comprehensive information, report analysis and evidence-based advice to the Grants and Contracts Manager, and internal and external stakeholders; prepare email correspondence and assist with plans, briefs, reports, and submissions; and undertake projects as directed by the Grants and Contracts Manager.
• Assist Executive Managers and Program Managers with meeting reporting requirements by providing regular reporting notifications, templates and other support as required.
• Maintain internal monitoring and reporting compliance tools and assist with developing grants management systems and processes to improve reporting and compliance outcomes.
• Proactively monitor and identify grant funding opportunities from government and non-government agencies which align with Anyinginyi Health’s projected programs, planning goals and strategies; and develop approved draft proposals and concepts into grant funding applications in collaboration with the Grants and Contracts Manager and the responsible Executive manager,
• Manage effective security over confidential and sensitive records and information; and actively promote best practice record management of key documents and communications.
• Work collaboratively and constructively with funding partners and internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships.
• Liaise with Anyinginyi Health’s Finance Team as required in relation to remittance tracking, invoicing and financial reporting.
• Assist the Grants and Contracts Manager with delivering grants educative and information sessions to improve grants development, compliance and reporting.
• Comply with all Anyinginyi policy and procedures, including use of approved IT programs for electronic data management, including the sharing and advocacy of this information to fellow colleagues.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to increase skills and knowledge and enhance capability within the Grants Team.
• Provide additional support as required to promote business continuity within the Business Services Section, within the position’s level classification.

About you 

To be considered for this position, you will have considerable experience managing complex and multiple grant terms and conditions of grants for various funding bodies for both government and non-government grants.

Your written and verbal communication skills operate at a high level; especially when dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and agencies relevant to primary healthcare. 

You will have a demonstrated ability to contribute to effective data collection tools and the status of grant performance indicators. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting data and reporting will also be required.

You will need to have an understanding of issues pertaining to Aboriginal primary health and general health care and respect for the past practices and current issues that impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people. While not required, previous experience working in a remote area will be highly regarded.

You will also need to possess the following: 

Essential skills and experience:

• Demonstrated ability to seek both government and non-government funding opportunities.
• Respect for traditional Aboriginal Culture and cultural diversity and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal/culturally diverse people.
• Experience in writing and applying for government and non-government grants
• Experience managing complex and multiple grant terms and conditions of grants for various funding bodies for both government and non-government grants.
• Experience in financial and narrative reporting and the acquitting of grants for various funding bodies for both government and non-government grants
• Demonstrated ability to communicate at a high level using both written and verbal communication skills to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and agencies relevant to primary health care and related services.
• Knowledge of social and health issues confronting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory
• Demonstrated project management experience including high level time management and attention to detail, as well as providing quality and evidence-based information and advice.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and to effectively manage relationships.
• Minimum Certificate IV in Business Administration or Financial Services or demonstrated capacity and commitment to obtain the qualification within an agreed timeframe.
