Clinical Midwife

Working within a collaborative maternity team, you’ll provide clinical leadership, support colleagues, guide complex care decisions, and help shape positive experiences for women, babies and families while growing your own professional impact.

What your day could look like

As a Clinical Midwife, you'll help deliver exceptional maternity care that supports women, babies and families at some of life's most important moments. From coordinating care in complex clinical situations to mentoring colleagues and strengthening service quality, you'll work with a dedicated team to achieve safe, positive outcomes across the maternity service.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

• Providing expert clinical leadership that supports safe, evidence-based care and positive maternity experiences.
• Coordinating and guiding care for women and families, helping the team navigate complex situations with confidence.
• Supporting and developing midwives and students through mentoring, coaching and shared learning.
• Driving quality improvements that enhance safety, strengthen clinical practice and deliver better outcomes for the community.

You're a confident and compassionate midwife who brings sound clinical judgement, strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to woman-centred care. You thrive in environments where teamwork matters, communicate with integrity, and support others to achieve their best. You'll take pride in helping women and families feel heard, respected and supported while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence. Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

• Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the relevant professional regulatory body.
• Advanced clinical midwifery experience with the ability to manage complex care and make informed decisions.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to professional growth, mentoring others and improving the quality and safety of care.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate qualifications relevant to midwifery practice and/or experience leading quality improvement initiatives.
