Leading Hand Fixed Plant Maintenance

An excellent permanent opportunity is available for an experienced Leading Hand – Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitter to join an established gold mining operation in Western Australia. 

Working an 8:6 days-only FIFO roster from Perth, you will lead and support the mechanical maintenance crew responsible for maintaining the site’s fixed plant and gold processing infrastructure. 

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to an established Leading Hand, or a highly experienced Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitter who has regularly stepped into leadership responsibilities and is ready to take the next step.

THE PACKAGE

• ASAP commencement 
• FIFO from Perth ONLY 
• Meals + Accommodation provided at camp 
• Permanent Position – Long-term ongoing role. 
• 8:6 roster – Dayshift only 
• $172,400 – $182,800 base salary, dependant on experience 
• $8000 in allowances 
• Up to 15% STIP 

THE ROLE Working closely with maintenance and operations, you will provide hands-on leadership across planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities within the processing plant. 

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting a crew of Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitters 
• Coordinating daily workloads, maintenance priorities and work allocation 
• Providing hands-on mechanical support alongside the team 
• Overseeing planned and preventative maintenance
• Responding to breakdowns and complex fault finding
• Supporting isolations, permits, and safe maintenance procedures
• Coordinating tooling, parts and resources for scheduled works
• Monitoring job progress and communicating maintenance priorities 
• Driving plant reliability, availability, safety and team performance

FIXED PLANT EXPERIENCE You will ideally have extensive mechanical maintenance experience within a gold or mineral processing environment, with exposure across:

• Crushers and Crushing circuits 
• SAG and ball mills
• Conveyors, Feeders and screens 
• Pumps and associated pipework 
• Gearboxes, bearings and drive systems 
• Agitators, tanks and cyclones
• Thickeners
• General mineral processing and fixed plant equipment 

Previous gold processing plant experience is highly regarded, particularly across crushing, conveying and milling circuits. 

Strong fixed plant candidates from other mineral processing commodities may also be considered where they can demonstrate relevant plant exposure and leadership experience.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?To be successful, you will ideally have: 

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate 
• Extensive Fixed Plant maintenance experience within mining 
• Previous leading hand experience 
• Current Australian Driver License 
• Working at Heights & Confined Spaces
• Police Check
• Australian Permanent residency or Citizenship 
• Ability to meet pre-employment site requirements 
• Must be residing in Western Australia with full working rights
