Housekeeping Attendant

Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood are looking for Housekeeping  Attendants to join our team!

The Role:

As our next Room and Public Area Attendant, you will:

• Be responsible for ensuring the appearance of the property and its rooms are of the highest standard

• Carry out various cleaning duties in all hotel rooms of the property, achieving established standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitisation and presentation

• Ensure the safe use of specialised chemicals and equipment

• Provide concierge services to guests​ as required, this will include but is not limited to key security, responding to enquiries and distribution of deliveries all whilst ensuring privacy and confidentiality

• Ensure that all the facilities are safe for use by guests

• Alerting the Manager of any potential OH&S issues

• Assist with any daily tasks requested by the Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor

• Advice the Managers if linen and laundry pickup and delivery services are required

• Assist in the coordination of the linen and laundry pickup and delivery services as required

• Ensure that all clean linen is stored properly.

• Ensure that all dirty linen is set aside ready for pickups

• Always ensure enough par level of stock.

• Assist with coordination of the ordering of all amenities, paper goods, consumables and any other items required by the department and property

• Ensure that all trolleys and equipment are cleared from the floors at the end of every shift

• Ensure that all trolleys are correctly stocked up and are well presented

• Ensure that all storage areas are locked up at the end of the shift

• Ensure that lost property is managed and handled correctly

• Liaise with the maintenance department on any maintenance issues

• Ensure that the front of the property and external areas are always presentable

• Keep all storage, chemical areas and linen rooms/ cupboards clean and tidy always

• Assist Managers and Front Office Manager with any extra duties, as requested

• Keep confidential and secure all business information and privacy of resident’s details

• Liaise daily with Managers, Front Office Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor to communicate priorities and address outstanding issues

• Maintain a positive relationship with residents and guests at the Hotel

• Maintain a positive working relationship with the Owner and all Staff and Stakeholders

What we are looking for:

The successful applicant will have:

• A fast learner who is comfortable working unsupervised

• Ability to effectively communicate with a large and diverse range of people

• High standards of ethical and professional conduct

• Ability to follow the Covid Safety & Cleaning guidelines and procedures

• Reasonable standard of physical fitness is required, who will also go the extra mile to provide a memorable guest experience

• Previous experience as a cleaner/room attendant/public areas attendant in a commercial environment (ideal but not mandatory)

• A customer-focused attitude, driven to exceed the expectations of guests

• Reliability & availability to work overnight during the week, weekends and public holidays

• Clear communicator – ability to speak, understand, read & write in English

• Valid Australian work rights
