The Role
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Facilities Assistant / Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and well-presented environment across a large semi-rural property.
Key responsibilities include:
Performing routine cleaning, maintenance, and general handyman tasks to keep Fina buildings, equipment, and facilities in excellent condition.
Maintaining gardens, grounds, and outdoor areas, including landscaping and general groundskeeping duties.
Assisting with the cleaning & detailing, and basic maintenance of the Fina vehicle fleet.
Supporting facilities and maintenance projects as directed by the Facility Manager.
Helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
Your Experience
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening, or landscaping across varying conditions and locations.
Experience in facilities maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
Practical knowledge of general maintenance and handyman tasks.
Experience with basic appliance maintenance and manual handling tasks, including moving furniture.
The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
A proactive approach to identifying and reporting maintenance or safety issues.
A strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
Experience working in residential, community, or care-based environments (desirable).
Exposure to working environments with high-needs disabled people.
Confidence using mobile apps and email to manage assigned tasks.
To Join the Fina Team, You Will Have
A strong work ethic and high attention to detail.
Effective communication skills.
A good level of physical fitness, with the ability to work outdoors across multiple locations.
Strong safety awareness.
Competency in the safe use and maintenance of power and hand tools.
A current Australian Driver Licence.
A current NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card), or the ability to obtain one.
A current Working with Children (Blue Card), or the ability to obtain one.
The ability to tow and manoeuvre a trailer (desirable).
A customer-focused approach and can-do attitude.
