Facilities Assistant

The Role

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Facilities Assistant / Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and well-presented environment across a large semi-rural property.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing routine cleaning, maintenance, and general handyman tasks to keep Fina buildings, equipment, and facilities in excellent condition.

• Maintaining gardens, grounds, and outdoor areas, including landscaping and general groundskeeping duties.

• Assisting with the cleaning & detailing, and basic maintenance of the Fina vehicle fleet.

• Supporting facilities and maintenance projects as directed by the Facility Manager.

• Helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
  

Your Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening, or landscaping across varying conditions and locations.

• Experience in facilities maintenance or a similar hands-on role.

• Practical knowledge of general maintenance and handyman tasks.

• Experience with basic appliance maintenance and manual handling tasks, including moving furniture.

• The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.

• A proactive approach to identifying and reporting maintenance or safety issues.

• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

• Experience working in residential, community, or care-based environments (desirable).

• Exposure to working environments with high-needs disabled people.

• Confidence using mobile apps and email to manage assigned tasks.

• A current Australian Driver Licence.

• A current NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card), or the ability to obtain one.

• A current Working with Children (Blue Card), or the ability to obtain one.

• The ability to tow and manoeuvre a trailer (desirable).

• A customer-focused approach and can-do attitude.
