About the role
Catalpa is a growing civil construction and energy contractor delivering complex projects across Australia. With a strong pipeline of bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, and transmission‑line projects, we are continuing to strengthen our Project Controls team to support high‑quality, predictable project delivery.
We are seeking an experienced Planner to join our Project Controls team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered on time through accurate scheduling, forecasting, risk identification, and performance reporting.

Meaningful role where your planning expertise directly shapes project delivery outcomes
Supportive environment with genuine collaboration across project, site, commercial and support functions
Competitive salary package and long‑term career development opportunities
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Planner will be responsible for independently developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules across multiple projects. Key responsibilities include:
Develop and manage detailed project schedules that accurately reflect scope, milestones, risks, and delivery requirements.
Monitor project progress, analyse the critical path, and provide clear, data‑driven insights on risks, delays, and performance.
Support commercial outcomes through accurate delay analysis and input into EOTs, variations, and contractual reporting.
Work collaboratively with project, site, and commercial teams to ensure planning information is current, reliable, and aligned with project objectives.
You will bring strong planning and scheduling experience within civil construction or energy projects, combined with excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to project delivery.
You will have:
Degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
Experience as a Planner within civil construction, infrastructure, or energy projects
Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project

Demonstrated experience in critical path analysis, forecasting, and delay analysis
Ability to identify project risks early and communicate clear, practical solutions
Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects
A collaborative mindset with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
If you’re a motivated planning professional looking to contribute to high‑profile civil and energy projects within a growing contractor, we’d love to hear from you.
